On the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, the Shipwrights, led by Ken Blackerby, provide a hot meal and groceries for those facing food insecurity in Lewisville and the surrounding area.
Ken, a dedicated volunteer with years of experience serving the community's homeless and undernourished community, reflects on his motivation: "'I was blessed and felt I should pay it forward,' he shared. 'In fact, it was Christ who said, 'I was hungry, and you gave me food.'"
If you would like to participate in this ministry, the time runs from 8:30am - 12:30pm. Ken and his crew meet in the Serenity Church/FCCU parking lot at 8:30 on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month for preparations.
